SUMMARY
Lantic is currently recruiting for the position of Electrical and Instrumentation Supervisor, located at its Taber Processing Plant. The Electrical and Instrumentation Supervisor is responsible for electrical and instrumentation maintenance on a factory-wide basis. The Supervisor is responsible for developing formal maintenance plans and scheduling of all work assignments, and selecting and purchasing suitable replacement parts through the CMMS (Maximo) for Journeyperson Electricians and Instrument Mechanics.
WE ARE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO WILL:
- Develop formal maintenance plans, schedule work assignments, and select and purchase suitable replacement parts through the CMMS (Maximo);
- Ensure that the work planned complies with all applicable provincial/federal regulations, including company policies and standards;
- Troubleshoot electrical and instrumentation issues;
- Assist the engineering department in new equipment design projects with respect to electrical and instrumentation integration;
- Assist in the preparation and control of the department budget;
- Participate in the selection, training, and evaluation of department trades employees;
- Schedule, assign, plan and monitor the work of electrical shop employees;
- Train and inform employees of new work methods or procedures, changes in safety regulations, work policies, electrical codes and standards, and Electrical Safety Program rollout and procedures;
- Categorize resourced work and prioritize work orders within the CMMS;
- Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly work plans and schedules;
- Maintain timecards, payroll, work orders, materials, equipment and other electrical shop records and submit reports;
- Identify labour hours required and available for planned work activities;
- Work closely with the company’s Health & Safety Manager to ensure compliance with OH&S policies and practices and ensure safe work practices are being followed;
- Complete required data entry, work in applicable computer applications;
- Perform a variety of administrative functions required by the position;
- Other duties as assigned.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO JOIN THE TEAM:
- Alberta Journeyperson Electrician Red Seal certification or equivalent Canadian Journeyperson certification with Interprovincial Red Seal;
- Minimum five (5) years post qualifying Red Seal experience;
- Five (5) – seven (7) years’ experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment;
- Three (3) – five (5) years supervisor experience;
- Experience in a unionized environment considered an asset;
- Knowledge of tools, equipment, and materials common to the electrical and instrumentation trades;
- Knowledge of applicable electrical and instrumentation codes, standards, regulations, and the Electrical Safety program;
- Knowledge of supervisory principles, practices, and techniques;
- Ability to estimate labour, material, and resource requirements for assigned work projects;
- Strong interpersonal, communication, good conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills;
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities, manage stress effectively, and make sound decisions;
- Proven ability to create and execute project plans that achieve identified targets;
- Strong planning and management skills;
- Ability to demonstrate strategic thinking;
- Ability to coach, mentor, and develop employees;
- Ability to engage people according to the company’s Mission and Values.
