Temporary – Summer Student – Full-time (May-September 16 weeks)
Hours: 35hrs weekly, Days and Evenings / few Weekends
POSITION SUMMARY:
This position involves assisting the Recreation Therapist in resident program planning, implementation, and evaluation, seasonal decorating, and applicable clerical duties.
Responsibilities include:
- Responsible for daily announcements
- Portering residents to applicable programs
- Help in the planning/organizing and facilitating of assigned outings
- Help plan and organize facility special events
- Help plan and facilitate daily programs
- Help with general department office duties
- Seasonal decorating of the Main Lounge and Dining Room
- Monthly Birthday board and distribution of calendar and newsletter
- Other duties and activities as directed
Qualifications:
- Enrolled or planning to enrol in Post Secondary
- Experience with seniors an asset.
- Supportive of the Sherwood Care’s health care philosophy and objectives
- Physical and mental fitness to perform duties and responsibilities
