Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Industrial Sandblaster to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing surfaces through abrasive blasting, ensuring high-quality finishes on various metal and industrial components. This role requires mechanical aptitude, familiarity with hand and power tools, and the ability to work safely in a fast-paced environment. The position offers an opportunity to develop technical skills within a dynamic manufacturing setting.
Duties
- Operate sandblasting equipment to clean and prepare surfaces of metal parts and structures
- Set up and calibrate blasting machines according to project specifications
- Use hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment as needed for surface preparation or minor repairs
- Assist with material handling using cranes, forklifts, or other mechanical lifting devices
- Perform routine maintenance on sandblasting equipment to ensure optimal performance
- Follow safety protocols including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as respirators, gloves, and eye protection
- Conduct quality inspections to verify surface cleanliness and finish standards
- Maintain a clean work area and document work performed accurately
- Assist in preparation before blasting
Experience
- Mechanical knowledge of tools, equipment, and basic maintenance procedures
- Familiarity with crane operation, forklift handling, and assembly processes is a plus
- Ability to perform basic math calculations for measurements and adjustments
- Understanding of lean manufacturing principles and safety procedures
- Experience with welding or mechanical assembly is advantageous but not required
- Strong attention to detail, safety consciousness, and ability to work independently or as part of a team

Pay: $22.00-$32.00 per hour
