What You’ll Do
METRIE is seeking a customer-focused Field Service Technician who will serve as a technical resource in the field, responds to customer service calls, inspections, and product repairs. When not performing field service work, this role will support the Halton Hills Door Shop team with door assembly, quality control, production activities, and warehouse operations, helping ensure product quality, customer satisfaction, and the ongoing success of the exterior door business.
Reporting relation: The Field Service Technician will report directly to our Door Shop Supervisor and will be based out of our Halton Hills distribution center.
Responsibilities
Field Service & Customer Support
Complete jobsite and product inspections to diagnose installation issues versus product issues and determine appropriate corrective actions.
Perform on-site adjustments, repairs, and component replacements on:
Execute repairs and corrective actions in accordance with warranty requirements and manufacturer standards.
Serve as a professional METRIE representative when interacting with channel partners, customers, Sales, and Operations teams.
Document inspections, findings, completed repairs, and parts utilized with accuracy and attention to detail.
Door Shop Operations
Support daily door shop operations when not performing field service work.
Assist with door assembly, quality control, production activities, and warehouse needs.
Contribute to maintaining safe, organized, and efficient shop operations.
Continuous Improvement
Support the growth of our exterior door product line through root cause analysis, product enhancement opportunities, and training around proper installation methods.
Collaborate with Sales Operations Managers and regional Sales teams to identify practical, cost-effective solutions that support customer expectations and business goals.
Champion a culture of safety, continuous improvement, and excellent customer service.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
Strong knowledge of exterior door systems, components, and construction.
Experience with door installation practices and servicing products when installation or product issues arise.
Comfortable using hand and power tools.
Ability to lift and handle heavy doors, components, and materials.
Strong communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and effectively manage changing priorities.
Detail-oriented with a high level of accountability and ownership.
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

In adherence to the principle of pay transparency, we are pleased to disclose the base pay for this full-time position at Metrie. The starting pay range for this position is $29 per hour. It is important to note that this position may also qualify for discretionary bonuses or commission payments. The specific base pay within the range will be contingent upon an individual's skills, qualifications, experience, and geographical location. Furthermore, it is essential to highlight that our remuneration ranges are established based on the role, level, and location.
