About the Role
At My Mutual, our underwriting team helps protect our policyholders and support the strength of our mutual community. We put people first by ensuring risks are assessed thoughtfully, coverage is clear, and brokers receive responsive, dependable service.
We are seeking a Commercial Underwriter who combines analytical thinking, attention to detail, and strong communication skills to evaluate risk and support responsible underwriting decisions. Working closely with brokers and internal teams, this role reviews applications, evaluates exposures, and determines appropriate coverage while ensuring underwriting decisions align with My Mutual’s guidelines and values.
This hybrid role is based in Saskatchewan, with the opportunity to work from our Waldheim or Saskatoon office as well as remotely, with in-person attendance required for training and team collaboration.
What You’ll Do
- Collect and review background information to assess commercial insurance risks
- Evaluate insurance applications and determine appropriate coverage
- Calculate and review policy premiums
- Assist with policy wordings and endorsements
- Provide responsive service and support to brokers through phone and email
- Maintain accurate documentation within underwriting systems
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure clear and consistent underwriting practices
What We’re Looking For
- Commercial underwriting experience and understanding of commercial property is a requirement
- Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking
- Professional written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Effective organizational habits and digital literacy
- A collaborative mindset and willingness to learn
A Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation, or progress toward it, is considered an asset.
Candidates must reside within Saskatchewan.
