Express Employment Professionals is seeking reliable and motivated General Labourers to support light industrial clients in Okotoks. This position will begin as a 1–2 month contract with the possibility of extension into a long‑term opportunity for the right candidate.
Applicants must have access to their own vehicle and be able to commute to Okotoks.
Job Summary
As a General Labourer, you’ll play a key role in ensuring daily operations run smoothly—whether on a construction site, in a warehouse, or at a production facility. This role involves hands-on tasks, attention to detail, and a safety-first mindset. Successful candidates must complete mandatory safety training and may require a background check depending on the site.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and uphold all Health, Safety & Environmental protocols.
- Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment safely and efficiently.
- Operate hand tools and basic machinery as needed (training provided).
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace at all times.
- Report unsafe conditions, equipment malfunctions, or incidents immediately.
- Assist with site clean-up, prep work, and general tasks as assigned.
Duties Required
- Ability to read, write, and understand English to follow job instructions and communicate effectively.
- Comfortable lifting, carrying, and moving up to 60 lbs independently; up to 100 lbs with team assistance.
- Capable of standing, kneeling, bending, or walking for extended periods.
- Physically able to work in indoor/outdoor environments and adapt to different weather conditions.
- Able to use basic hand tools, power tools, and safety gear responsibly.
- Willingness to learn and take on new tasks as required.
- Demonstrated reliability and accountability—strong attendance is a must.
- Must have a reliable personal vehicle for transportation to and from worksites.
Qualifications
- Previous general labour experience is an asset.
- Strong communication skills and a team-player mindset.
- Must comply with workplace safety standards and complete training courses.
- Flexibility to take on short-term or long-term assignments.
