We are currently hiring a compassionate and experienced Personal Support Worker (PSW) to assist a family in Oshawa with supporting a child with autism and special needs.
The ideal candidate is patient, dependable, energetic, and has previous experience working with children with autism spectrum disorder and/or other developmental or special needs.
Position Details
- 5 days per week
- 3 to 4 hour shifts
- Consistent ongoing schedule
Responsibilities
- Provide attentive and supportive care to a child with special needs
- Safely drive the family member to and from classes, programs, and activities
- Assist with daily routines and supervision
- Build a positive and supportive relationship with the child and family
Requirements
- Experience working with children with autism and/or special needs REQUIRED
- PSW certification is considered an asset
- Valid G driver’s license REQUIRED
- Reliable personal vehicle REQUIRED
- Comfortable driving as part of the role
- Clean driving record
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
