Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced General Machinist with 5+ years of hands-on experience operating a lathe and drill press. The ideal candidate must be proficient in using vernier calipers and micrometers to ensure precise measurements and quality control. This role requires a strong understanding of machining principles, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a manufacturing environment. As a machinist in our team, you will play a key role in producing custom, one-of-a-kind products, requiring strong problem-solving skills and adaptability. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working on unique, high-quality parts rather than mass production.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate manual lathe and drill press to machine parts to exact specifications.
- Work on custom orders, ensuring each piece meets design requirements.
- Read and interpret technical drawings and work orders to determine machining requirements.
- Use vernier calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring tools to verify part accuracy.
- Troubleshoot machining issues and adjust settings as needed to maintain quality standards.
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Qualifications & Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in machining is a plus.
- Minimum 5 years of experience operating a lathe and drill press in a machining or manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in reading product specifications.
- Ability to read and work from technical drawings and work orders
- Experience with metal properties, machining techniques, and tooling selection.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Physical stamina to lift heavy materials and stand for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with other machining equipment (e.g., milling machines, surface grinders).
- Basic knowledge of CNC machining is a plus.
- Welding or fabrication experience is a plus.
- Health and Safety certified (can provide training if required).
Work Environment:
- Manufacturing setting with exposure to machinery, noise, and metal shavings.
- Personal protective equipment (PPE) required (i.e. Safety shoes, safety goggles).

Pay: $21.00-$25.00 per hour
