MyHealth Walk-In and Comprehensive Care Clinic / Canadian Sleep Consultants / MyKidz Pediatrics is currently looking for a Medical Office Assistant (Casual) employee to work on call.
We are looking for someone that has experience working at a clinic and can work independently.
We are looking at someone who is flexible to take in shifts and has availability weekdays and some weekends. Typical shifts are for the whole workday, 9am to 5pm. Need for now is at the NE clinic.
The clinic is located in the NE and SE quadrant of Calgary.
Key Responsibilities:
Key aspects of the position may include, but are not limited to:
Answer phones and process patient inquiries
Set up appointment schedules and templates
Book and confirm appointments and referral appointments
Fax / scan / link documents to patient records
Clean and sterilize instruments and materials
Call for lab results/x-rays etc.
Third party billings
Cash collection and invoicing on non-insurable
Scanning/photocopying/faxing as required
General Knowledge, skills and Abilities:
- Familiarity with medical terminologies
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Strong work ethic, with initiative and foresight
- Good attention to detail, balanced with speed and accuracy
- Able to prioritize and manage multiple priorities
- Proficiency with a computer including using the internet, the Electronic Medical Record and MS Office software.
- Ability to work with a diverse high needs population
- Ability to work independently and effective within a multi-disciplinary team
- Experience with OSCAR/JUNO EMR an asset
- Experience with Quickbooks for billing an asset
Qualifications: (Minimum Required)
- At least one (1) year experience as a Medical Office Assistant in a specialty medical clinic
- Health Care Professional an asset
- Successful completion of a Medical Administration Program an asset
