Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Long Haul Truck Driver to join our logistics team. This role involves transporting freight across long distances, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining safety standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong driving skills, knowledge of heavy equipment operation, and the ability to perform basic automotive repairs when necessary. Duties
- Safely operate commercial trucks over long distances, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Transport freight efficiently from origin to destination, ensuring timely deliveries
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, including checking brakes, tires, and fluid levels
- Load and unload freight using forklifts or other heavy equipment as needed
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs
- Perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting to address minor mechanical issues during trips
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules and any issues encountered
- Follow safety protocols at all times to ensure personal and team safety during transit and loading/unloading processes
Requirements
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record
- Experience in freight transportation over long distances
- Proficiency in heavy equipment handling is preferred
- Knowledge of automotive repair basics for troubleshooting minor vehicle issues
- Ability to operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for documentation and compliance purposes
- Ability to work independently for extended periods, often on overnight routes or multi-day trips
- Physical stamina to handle loading/unloading tasks and long hours on the road
- Must pass a background check and drug screening prior to employment
This role is vital for maintaining our supply chain operations, requiring dedication, professionalism, and a focus on safety.
Pay: $60,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
