Part-Time Lawn Care Technician (Mower)

Neighbourhood Heroes is hiring Full-Time Lawn Care Technicians for the 2026 season. This is a hands-on outdoor role for individuals who want stable hours, predictable workdays, and the satisfaction of creating beautifully maintained properties across Edmonton.
Technicians operate commercial lawn equipment, maintain residential and commercial lawns, and — uniquely — drive Tesla Model 3s as part of our electric fleet.

Compensation
- $19/hour starting wage
- 1% commission on upsells to active customers
- 3% commission on services/packages sold to new customers
- Overtime at 1.5× after 8 hrs/day or 44 hrs/week
Schedule:
- Saturday, Thursday and Friday
- Typical shift: 6:45 AM – 3:30 PM
- Seasonal contract: May–October

Job Responsibilities
Lawn Care Services
- Operate riding and push mowers safely and effectively
- Perform trimming, edging, and cleanup with attention to detail
- Handle minor equipment maintenance and adjustments
- Maintain consistent mowing patterns and high-quality results
- Obey property notes and complete service summaries
Vehicle & Equipment Operation
- Drive company Tesla Model 3s and work trucks between job sites
- Operate mini-trailers and load/unload mowers safely
- Follow all PPE and safety protocols
- Maintain equipment condition and report issues immediately
Customer Interaction
- Speak respectfully with customers when present
- Leave service summaries at each home
- Request Google reviews from satisfied clients
Reporting
- Mark each job as completed or unserviceable
- Document issues and reschedule requests
- Return equipment at end of the day and maintain a clean workspace

A Day in the Life
- Arrive at the warehouse at 6:45 AM, grab snacks/drinks, and sign into the NH App.
- Load the Tesla or work truck and head to the first property
- Drive safely between stops while listening to music or podcasts
- Unload the mower, set the correct height, mow clean lines, trim edges, and blow debris back onto the turf
- Complete about 10–20 stops per day, depending on route density
- Document the visit, take pictures when needed, and move to the next stop
- Finish your route, return to the warehouse, unload equipment, and clock out
It’s structured and satisfying work for someone who enjoys being outdoors and working independently.

Requirements
- Valid Alberta Class 5 driver’s licence
- 3-year clean driving abstract
- Minimum 3 years insured driving history
- Physically capable of lifting, pulling equipment, and working outdoors
- Comfortable operating mowers, trimmers, aerators, and blowers (training provided)
- Strong attention to detail
- Consistently punctual and reliable
- Comfortable working in variable weather
