Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Assembler and Machine Builder to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assembling and building automated machinery according to detailed schematics and blueprints. This role requires strong mechanical knowledge, understanding of electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic schematics. Proficiency with hand and power tools, and experience in manufacturing environments. The position offers an opportunity to work on complex projects that contribute directly to the production process, ensuring high-quality standards and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to assemble machinery components accurately
- Use hand tools, power tools, calipers, and welding equipment to assemble and modify machine parts
- Operate forklifts safely to move heavy components within the warehouse or manufacturing floor
- Perform machining tasks as needed to prepare parts for assembly
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment during all phases of assembly
- Conduct inspections of assembled machinery to ensure compliance with specifications
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot mechanical issues and improve assembly processes
- Maintain detailed documentation of work performed and parts used during assembly
Qualifications
- Proven experience in manufacturing, mechanical assembly, or machine building
- Strong knowledge of blueprint reading, schematics, and technical drawings
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, calipers, and machining tools
- Ability to operate forklifts safely (certification preferred)
- Mechanical knowledge related to machinery components and assembly techniques
- Warehouse experience is a plus for understanding material handling procedures
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
