Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Franchise Operations Manager – Food & Beverage to support the management, standardization, performance, compliance, training, supply chain coordination, and expansion of assigned food and beverage operations across Canada.
This role requires hands-on experience in multi-location food and beverage operations, franchise operations management, store performance optimization, operational reporting, staff supervision, cost control, and new location opening and stabilization support. The Franchise Operations Manager will help ensure consistent execution of company and brand standards across locations, support franchisees and store teams, improve operational efficiency, and assist with the successful growth and stabilization of food and beverage / café operations.
Key Responsibilities:
· Plan, organize, direct, control, and evaluate the daily operations of assigned food and beverage / café locations across multiple locations;
· Ensure operational standardization across assigned locations by implementing company policies, standard operating procedures, food safety requirements, service standards, product quality standards, and brand guidelines;
· Conduct regular site visits, store inspections, and operational audits to assess store performance, franchise compliance, cleanliness, customer service, staffing, inventory control, product quality, and adherence to company and brand standards;
· Monitor and evaluate store-level sales, labour costs, food and beverage costs, inventory, waste, controllable expenses, and key performance indicators to support franchise performance optimization;
· Review sales reports, payroll records, inventory reports, invoices, delivery records, operating expenses, and operational data for accuracy, cost control, and performance improvement;
· Develop and implement action plans to improve profitability, labour efficiency, service speed, product consistency, customer satisfaction, operational scalability, and overall store performance;
· Recruit, hire, train, coach, supervise, and evaluate store managers, supervisors, baristas, and other food and beverage operations staff;
· Prepare and review staff schedules to ensure proper staffing levels based on business needs, sales volume, service requirements, and labour cost targets;
· Resolve escalated customer complaints, employee concerns, service issues, staffing challenges, franchise compliance issues, and store-level operational problems;
· Support new location openings and stabilization, including operational readiness planning, launch checklists, staff training, inventory preparation, equipment readiness, and post-opening support;
· Coordinate with franchisees, store managers, suppliers, vendors, contractors, and internal teams to support cross-location operational management, franchise standards, product availability, and new location openings; and
· Support procurement and supply chain activities, including ordering, delivery verification, inventory management, vendor communication, product availability, waste reduction, and invoice reconciliation.
Qualifications:
· Completion of a college or other program related to hospitality or food and beverage service management, or a related field is preferred. An equivalent combination of significant food and beverage operations management experience, franchise operations experience, and relevant education or training may be considered;
· Minimum of 5 years of experience in the food service, café, coffee shop, beverage, quick-service restaurant, or restaurant operations sector is required;
· Minimum of 5 years of supervisory, store management, area management, district management, regional operations management, or other food and beverage operations management experience is required;
· Experience overseeing multiple food and beverage locations, franchise locations, district operations, area operations, regional operations, or cross-location operational management is required;
· Experience with franchise operations management, operational standardization, brand-standard implementation, store compliance, staff training, scheduling, customer service, and store-level issue resolution is required;
· Experience with KPI tracking, sales reporting, operational reporting, inventory control, labour cost control, food and beverage cost control, waste reduction, and other cost-control procedures is required;
· Experience supporting new store openings, operational readiness, launch preparation, new location stabilization, brand expansion, or post-opening performance improvement is required;
· Experience using food and beverage operations systems, such as Auphan, Clover, Lightspeed, Marketman, Talent LMS, Push Operations, Givex, Square, or similar POS, inventory, scheduling, training, and payment platforms, is required;
· Knowledge of food safety procedures, FIFO, hygiene standards, service standards, product quality standards, standard operating procedures, inventory management, and supply chain coordination is required; and
· Strong leadership, communication, conflict resolution, problem-solving, organizational, analytical, and multitasking skills are required, with the ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, support store teams, and travel to assigned food and beverage / café locations within Canada as required.
