Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Floral Designer to join our team in creating beautiful, custom floral arrangements for a variety of occasions. The ideal candidate will have a passion for floral artistry, strong customer service skills, and a keen eye for detail. This role offers an opportunity to showcase creativity while working in a dynamic retail environment that values quality and innovation. The Floral Designer will be responsible for designing stunning floral displays, assisting customers, and maintaining the overall presentation of the floral department. We are open for the right candidate for a flexible start this summer transitioning into more hours for fall/winter
Responsibilities
- Create custom floral arrangements for events such as weddings, funerals, and special occasions, ensuring client specifications are met with artistic excellence.
- Maintain fresh flowers by proper handling, storage, and display to ensure longevity and visual appeal.
- Assist customers with selecting flowers and designing personalized arrangements to meet their needs.
- Manage inventory levels of flowers, foliage, containers, and accessories; restock displays as needed.
- Operate POS systems accurately for sales transactions, including cash handling and processing payments.
- Support merchandising efforts by organizing displays to attract customers and promote seasonal or promotional items.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization within the floral department to uphold safety standards and aesthetic quality.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth daily operations and exceptional customer service experiences.
- Stay informed about current trends in floral design, horticulture, landscape maintenance, and e-commerce platforms related to retail sales.
- Reply to new event inquiries in a timely friendly manner
- Comfortable meeting clients and discussing their vision
- Occasionally will need to deliver or set up events, pick uo products in Calgary- mileage will be paid
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Floral Designer with a strong portfolio of floral arrangements.
- Familiarity with POS systems, cash handling, retail sales, cashiering, and customer service best practices.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to understand client needs and convey ideas clearly.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
- Experience with e-commerce platforms related to floral retail is desirable.

Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
