Shop Technician/Installer

Wage starting at $32 per hour plus annual bonus
Sunset Memorial & Stone is a fast-growing company with customers throughout North America, providing a wide offering of granite cabinets for cemeteries (columbaria) as well as cemetery monuments within the province of Alberta. Sunset has been very successful competing in the US Market through a subsidiary called Columbarium USA. The company has now grown to the point where we need to immediately hire a Shop Technician / Installer to better serve customers in both Canada and the US.
Reporting to the Vice President of Columbaria, the Shop Technician / Installer will be expected to provide a wide variety of support within the shop / manufacturing environment.
What will you do?
- Install large granite cabinets (Columbaria) into cemeteries throughout Canada and the United States.
- The successful candidate can expect to be working outside the city of Calgary 1 week per month on average.
- Assist in the manufacturing of both indoor and outdoor columbaria. This includes the use of handheld power tools, as well as drill presses and band saws.
- Forklift material in and out of the shop.
- Dispose of wood crating used in the material shipping process.
- Ensure that the yard and manufacturing facility is kept clean.
- Assist with Sunset’s Health and Safety activities.
The right candidate will demonstrate the following qualifications:
- Clean drivers abstract.
- An up to date passport.
- An ability to take direction as well as demonstrate self motivation in previous jobs.
- Good with people and enjoys working on a team.
- Previous experience in driving larger 3 or 5Ton trucks.
- Previous forklift experience is mandatory.
