Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Journeyman Automotive Technician to join our reputable dealership team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive mechanic experience, strong mechanical knowledge, and proficiency with various tools and diagnostic schematics. This role involves performing complex automotive repairs, maintenance, and diagnostics to ensure customer satisfaction and vehicle safety. Candidates with Ford or other dealership experience and a solid understanding of automotive systems are highly preferred. Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive repairs and maintenance on a wide range of vehicles, including engine diagnostics, brake repairs, suspension work, and electrical systems.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment to complete repairs efficiently and safely.
- Interpret schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic codes to accurately identify issues.
- Conduct vehicle inspections to determine necessary repairs or maintenance needs.
- Maintain detailed records of work performed in accordance with dealership standards.
- Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and quality standards.
- Provide excellent customer service by explaining repair procedures and addressing customer concerns professionally.
- Assist in the training of junior technicians or apprentices as needed.
Skills
- Proven dealership mechanic experience with a strong background in automotive repair and maintenance.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and diagnostic schematics.
- Mechanical knowledge of various vehicle systems including engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical components, and suspension systems.
- Ability to lift heavy loads safely and perform physically demanding tasks involving heavy lifting.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to interpret technical manuals and schematics accurately.
- Excellent customer service skills with a professional attitude towards clients and team members.
- Experience with Ford vehicles is a plus.
- Knowledge of maintenance procedures for different vehicle makes and models is desirable.
