The Registered Dietitian (RD) plays a vital role in promoting optimal nutritional health and wellness for patients within a healthcare environment. This position involves assessing nutritional needs, developing individualized care plans, and providing evidence-based dietary counseling to support medical treatment and recovery. The RD collaborates closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.

Casual position available: Requires at least 5-8 hours of weekday/daytime availability per week, with approx. 5-10 visits per week
Location: Barrie and surrounding areas
Community based position, pay per visit and mileage in-between clients
Duties and Responsibilities
Provide nutrition service to clients that incorporates all components of the therapy process model
Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver excellent client outcomes
Provide assessment and treatment virtually or in-person as required to a wide variety of older adult clients with varying needs including malnutrition, chronic disease management, enteral nutrition, texture modified diets etc.
Provision of health teaching, hand-outs, and consultation to patient and caregivers, including potential residential home staff
Work closely with the team and other resources to develop new programs to meet identified client needs
Perform regular, timely charting, reporting and communication
Record workload measurement data
Attend staff meetings and case conference meetings, as required
Comply with continuous quality improvement initiatives of Bayshore Home Health
Developing a flexible, responsive system to meet changing and competing demands
Qualifications:
Education
Bachelor degree in Applied Human Nutrition or Bachelor of Science and successful completion of dietetic internship
Be registered as a member in good standing with the College of Dietitians of Ontario
CPR/ First Aid certification from the last year from a WSIB certified organization
Recent TB testing and Vulnerable Sector Check required upon hire
