Maple Leaf Construction Ltd. is currently seeking an experienced and skilled Asphalt Paving Operator to join our dynamic construction team.
Job Summary
In this role, you will be responsible for operating heavy paving equipment to lay asphalt surfaces efficiently and safely. Your expertise will help ensure high-quality paving projects that meet safety standards and client expectations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse infrastructure projects, contributing to the development of roads, parking lots, and other paved surfaces with precision and professionalism.
Duties
- Operate asphalt pavers and related heavy equipment to lay asphalt with accuracy and efficiency
- Prepare job sites by setting up equipment, checking grade levels, and ensuring proper alignment
- Perform routine maintenance and safety checks on paving machinery to ensure optimal operation
- Coordinate with team members to ensure smooth workflow and timely project completion
- Follow all safety protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
Experience
- Proven construction experience with a focus on paving or heavy equipment operation
- Mechanical knowledge of paving machinery is preferred.
- Familiarity with construction safety practices and ability to follow detailed instructions
- Strong work ethic with the ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
Physical & Work Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- Ability to work extended hours, weekends, and in various weather conditions depending on project requirements
- Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel and work outside of Winnipeg throughout Manitoba.
