Build the Future with Us
Join our Ground Engineering and Materials Team in Prince George, BC as a highly motivated Junior Materials Technician. Your work will blend field assignments with laboratory work in our Prince George facility. You’ll collaborate with technical experts, support major infrastructure initiatives, and contribute directly to our regional and northern project portfolio.
Your Impact
You will:
- Champion a strong health, safety, and environmental culture by applying site specific HSE policies and procedures;
- Support interdisciplinary project teams delivering complex work that helps push your skills to the next level;
- Lead and perform material testing field assignments, including soil and concrete testing works locally in Prince George and regionally throughout BC and the Yukon;
- Conduct laboratory testing in our CCIL certified laboratory in accordance with applicable standards;
- Collaborate with our wider team of technicians and engineers to provide technical services related to geotechnical engineering;
- Contribute to planning and executing field programs, including mobilization to regional and northern project sites;
Participate in a team environment and be a strong communicator.

The Skills That Set You Apart
You bring:
- A college diploma or degree in Civil Engineering Technology;
- Relevant experience as a materials field and laboratory technologist or student intern, or a related position;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel;
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English with high attention to detail;
- Ability to work long, physically demanding hours and adverse weather conditions;
- Confidence with remote work and assignment to projects in the northern environment;
- Ability to work well with senior direction, under pressure, meet deadlines and cooperate with a team in various environments;
- Value added assets: Either possess or be eligible for CTech (Certified Technician) or AScT (Applied Science Technologist) certification, and CCIL concrete (Cat 0) and CCIL aggregates (Type C and D) testing certification.
Valid Canadian Driver’s License.

Compensation:
AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $57,500 - 76,200
MB & ON: $52,500 - 72,300
NB, NL, NS, PE & QC: $52,000 - 69,000
