KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Loading and unloading building materials as required
- Use hand tools as required (shovel, wheelbarrow, etc)
- Maintain a clean and safe worksite
- Mix, pour and spread materials
- Level earth and other materials as required
- Perform other duties as assigned by the site manager
- Assist and provide support to crews
- Work safely and promote a safe work environment adhering to safety policies and procedures, including participation in safety meetings.
- Complete the daily maintenance and safety inspections of the assigned piece of equipment as outlined in the Milner Group maintenance policy.
- Conduct pre-trip inspections on assigned equipment, maintain equipment and promptly report any maintenance issues.
- Ensure effective communication on site and any potential issues are brought to the attention of the site manager/superintendent.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Valid Class 5 drivers License (minimum)
- Minimum 2 years industry experience
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints is an asset
- Ability to operate heavy equipment is an asset
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Pride of ownership in providing quality results and service
- Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to work with a diverse group of professionals
- Ability to regularly push, pull, lift up to 23kg (50lbs)
- Ability to work outside in all weather
- Ability to walk on varied, uneven terrain
