Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Truck and Trailer Mechanic to join our maintenance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of heavy-duty trucks, trailers, and industrial equipment. This role requires strong mechanical knowledge, experience with commercial repair, and the ability to work efficiently with hand tools, power tools, and schematics. The position offers an opportunity to work on diverse machinery including tractors, trailers, vac trucks and more. Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostics and repairs on trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment using industry-standard tools and techniques
- Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, brake repairs, tire replacements, and electrical system checks
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues utilizing schematics and technical manuals
- Operate power tools safely and effectively during repair procedures
- Weld metal components as needed for structural repairs or modifications
- Assist in the assembly or disassembly of machinery for repairs or upgrades
- Maintain detailed records of repairs performed and parts used
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and company policies
- Collaborate with team members to prioritize repairs and minimize downtime
Skills
- Proven experience as a mechanic with a focus on heavy-duty trucks and trailers; dealership experience is a plus
- Strong knowledge of commercial repair, electrical systems, hydraulics, and schematics
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and diagnostic tools
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely (up to 50 pounds) and work in physically demanding environments
- Mechanical aptitude combined with excellent problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with heavy equipment operation and maintenance procedures
- Strong customer service skills to communicate effectively with clients or team members regarding repairs or issues
- Ability to read technical manuals and schematics for complex machinery repair or assembly tasks
Pay: $45.00-$56.00 per hour
