Grower Supervisor – UP Vertical Farms
Location: Pitt Meadows, BC
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: $55,000–$65,000 per year + benefits
UP Vertical Farms is seeking a Grower Supervisor to oversee daily vertical farming operations and support the production of high-quality leafy greens in a controlled environment agriculture (CEA) facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily grow operations including seeding, transplanting, cultivation, harvesting, and sanitation
- Monitor plant health and environmental systems (lighting, irrigation, nutrients, pH, EC, temperature, humidity, CO₂)
- Lead and support grow staff, ensuring food safety and workplace safety standards are met
- Maintain accurate crop, inventory, and operational records
- Assist with R&D trials, process improvements, and equipment maintenance
- Support crop scheduling and labour planning
Qualifications
- Eligible to work in Canada
- Valid BC Class 5 Driver’s Licence
- 2–3 years of horticulture, greenhouse, or CEA experience (supervisory experience preferred)
- Experience with hydroponics or vertical farming is an asset
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting up to 30 lbs
Working Conditions & Benefits
- On-site role in climate-controlled grow facilities
- Full-time position with weekly rotating shifts: Monday to Friday and Tuesday to Saturday
- Mornings, Days, evenings shifts, night shifts or Sundays as needed. Shift times may vary depending on crop cycles and business
