Job Posting: STEM ESL Teacher (International Youth Summer Camp)
Contract: July 13th – July 31, 2026 (3 Week Contract)
Since 1992, Bodwell's Summer Programs has been a leader in educational, inventive and exciting Summer Programs for international youth ages 9 to 17 in Western Canada. Each year we welcome students from many different countries to focus on English language acquisition and an introduction to Canadian culture. Our summer teaching positions are full-time positions from:
8:30am-4:00pm Mondays to Thursdays
8:30am-1:00pm Fridays
Our STEM Teachers are responsible for planning and delivering engaging STEM classes for international students aged 13–17 as part of our summer camp program. Teachers will develop lessons and hands-on activities that encourage creativity, problem-solving, collaboration, and critical thinking in areas such as science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Some resources and materials will be provided, and teachers are expected to create a positive, interactive classroom environment that supports English language learners.
We will have a teacher orientation on Wednesday, June 24th from 6pm-9pm where we will cover the important details of the program. This will be a paid orientation. Attendance is mandatory.
Requirements:
- Completion of a Bachelor of Education
- BC Certified Teacher
- Fluent in English
- Flexible to implement afternoon projects and activities/sports
- Experience working with ESL youth (asset)
- Previous camp experience (asset)
- Individuals who are TESL certified with adequate experience may be considered
