The Opportunity:
We are currently hiring a full-time, permanent Store Associate. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting customers with their purchases, receiving shipments, stocking shelves and maintaining well-organized departments, and contributing to the overall success of the store.
Duties Include:
- Greet customers in a professional and approachable manner.
- Load merchandise into customer vehicles efficiently and safely (lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks on a regular and unassisted basis).
- Answer basic product location questions and direct customers to appropriate departments when needed.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the parking lot, entrance areas, etc. Assist with snow removal, salting, and general exterior upkeep as required.
- Assist with receiving shipments, stocking inventory, and maintaining receiving area/storage organization.
- Maintain clean, organized, and fully stocked shelves, displays, etc.
What We're Looking For:
- Previous retail or customer service experience an asset.
- Experience or familiarity with building materials, construction, or home improvement is an asset.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule when needed, including weekends, evenings and holidays.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Comfortable working with computers.
- Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment.
- Please note: Reliable transportation is essential as Chemong Home Hardware Building Centre is not on a bus route.
What We Offer:
- Full-time hours: 42.5 hours/week
- Monday to Friday, 7:00am-4:00pm (evenings and weekends on an occasional basis).
