Part Time Mechanic
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Part Time Mechanic to join our team. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of machinery and vehicles, ensuring optimal performance and safety. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical repairs, electrical systems, and the use of hand and power tools. Experience with automotive repair, Caterpillar equipment, or schematics is highly valued. This position offers flexible hours for individuals passionate about mechanics and customer service.
Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic assessments on machinery and vehicles using schematics and technical manuals
- Conduct repairs and maintenance on mechanical systems, including engines, transmissions, and hydraulics
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other specialized tools to complete tasks
- Troubleshoot electrical issues and perform electrical repairs as needed
- Assist with heavy lifting and moving parts or equipment safely
- Follow safety protocols to maintain a safe work environment
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating repair needs and solutions effectively
- Maintain detailed records of repairs and maintenance activities
Qualifications
- Proven mechanic experience with a strong understanding of mechanical systems
- Knowledge of welding, electrical systems, and schematics preferred
- Experience working with Caterpillar or similar heavy machinery is a plus
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment safely
- Capable of heavy lifting and working in physically demanding environments
- Automotive repair experience is advantageous
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Excellent customer service skills for effective communication with clients
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
