Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Licensed 310T Truck & Coach Technician to step into a Shop Lead Supervisor role. This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who enjoys mentoring others, leading by example, and ensuring quality repairs while maintaining and efficient, productive shop.
You'll work alongside a skilled team of technicians and apprentices, providing technical guidance, coordinating daily workflow, and helping develop the next generation of mechanics.
Responsibilities
- Lead the daily operations of the shop floor while maintaining a safe, organized and productive work environment.
- Coordinate work assignments and monitor workflow to maximize shop efficiency.
- Mentor and coach licensed technicians and apprentices, promoting skill development and best practices.
- Perform diagnostics, repairs and preventative maintenance on heavy trucks, trailers and equipment as required.
- Review upcoming work orders to verify parts availability, minimizing downtime and preventing delays to scheduled work
- Review completed repairs to ensure quality workmanship and compliance with safety standards.
- Assist with troubleshooting complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and aftertreatment systems.
- Support scheduling and prioritize repairs to minimize equipment downtime.
- Monitor inventory levels for commonly used parts and communicate replenishment needs to maintain efficient shop operations.
- Maintain accurate repair documentation and communicate effectively with management.
- Foster a positive, respectful, and team-oriented workplace culture.
- Ensure compliance with Ministry of Transportation regulations, health and safety policies, and company procedures.
Qualifications
- Valid 310T Truck & Coach license with relevant certification
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of heavy truck repair experience
- Experience with ship scheduling, work planning, inventory coordination, and parts management.
- Previous leadership, foreman or superviory experience is considered an asset.
- Strong understanding of inventory control and the ability to ensure required parts and materials are available before work is scheduled.
- Proficiency with computerized maintenance management systems or fleet maintenance software for scheduling work orders, tracking repairs, and managing parts inventory.
- Excellent organizational and planning skills with ability to anticipate shop needs and maintaining workflow efficiency.
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting abilites
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple jobs in a fast-paced environment
- Valid Class G driver's license (DZ/AZ Considered an asset)
- Strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship

Pay: $40.00-$65.00 per hour
