Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Private Swim Instructor to provide engaging and safe swimming lessons for toddlers at our private residence in Manotick. Must know how to teach ISR- self rescue swim lessons for infants. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching young children, possess strong swimming skills, have experience with ISR, and be committed to fostering a positive learning environment.
**We need someone with experience teaching infants how to safety swim and float in emergency situations**
Responsibilities
*Must know ISR (infant swimming resource) self rescue swim lessons*
- Conduct private swim lessons tailored specifically for toddlers, focusing on water safety, ISR, swim survival skills
- Create a fun, supportive, and safe environment that encourages children to learn and enjoy swimming
- Teach survival swim skills- rolling onto back, floating on back, swimming short distances etc
- Assess each child's skill level and progress, adjusting lesson plans accordingly
- Demonstrate proper swimming techniques and safety protocols to both children and guardians
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the swimming area before and after lessons
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding the child's progress and any concerns
- Ensure adherence to all safety guidelines during lessons, including supervision at all times during water activities
Requirements
- Proven experience in teaching swimming, especially with young children or toddlers
- Strong swimming skills with the ability to demonstrate techniques effectively
- Excellent communication skills to engage with children and their families
- Ability to create a positive, patient, and encouraging learning environment
- Certification in CPR, First Aid, or Water Safety Instruction is preferred but not mandatory; willingness to obtain certification prior to employment is required
- Reliable transportation to the private residence location
- A genuine passion for teaching children and promoting water safety
Pay: $40.00-$60.00 per hour
