Position Overview: Reporting to the General Manager (and indirectly to the President and Owner), the Sales Representative will focus on growing Hyland's business units in the municipal, construction, and development sectors:
- Prospect, develop, and manage customer relationships.
- Conduct cold calls and seek out request for proposals.
- Monitor job boards and present proposals.
- Secure new customers and develop service contracts.
- Cross-sell to existing customers and revive inactive accounts.
- Provide exceptional customer service and support.
- Monitor market trends to forecast sales opportunities.
- Collaborate with operations, quality, and finance teams to meet sales and collection targets.
Significance: This role is crucial for increasing revenue growth through effective customer relationship management and cross-selling opportunities across different divisions.
Responsibilities : Source new business opportunities through research, outbound calls, potential customer meetings and industry related activities.
Specific Job Responsibilities
- Utilize existing customer and industry relationships to drive opportunities.
- Lead sales strategy in the assigned territory, including prospecting, managing leads, and maintaining customer relationships.
- Increase regional sales and brand recognition through extensive cold calling (phone and in-person).
- Aggressively pursue new clients and customer acquisition.
- Mine business opportunities from bid boards and procurement sites.
- Ensure all companies are listed as approved providers for relevant municipal and industry bodies.
- Identify and build relationships with decision-makers within accounts, establishing Hyland as a trusted provider.
- Maintain and update CRM and project management tools to develop the sales pipeline and keep the team informed.
- Develop proposals and deliver strategic sales presentations (with marketing assistance).
- Review target customer opportunities and provide sales strategy input, ensuring alignment with overall business strategy.
- Prioritize activities and manage the territory for optimal penetration and profitability.
- Prepare written proposals and deliver presentations to customers and stakeholders.
- Communicate clearly with sales support and operations.
- Provide accurate and timely reports, including forecasts and activity updates.
- Acquire and maintain competitive market knowledge.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Assist operations with customer issues to resolution.
- Build strong relationships with key customers and internal teams.
Qualification Profile
Education:
Diploma in Business or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Experience and Skill Set:
1. 3-5 years of B2B sales experience, ideally in a comparable industry (construction, industrial, machinery, etc.) in an outbound sales role
2. Proven measurable sales success- past award winner, industry reputation top earner, etc.
3. Concrete knowledge is preferred
4. Knowledge of technical drawings an asset
5. Experience in utilizing systems and tools to improve sales performance such as CRM & Project Management both desktop and mobile
6. Demonstrated strong application user skills for Google workspace and MS Office Suite of products including Excel & Word. The office uses a combination of Microsoft and Google technologies.
7. Strong written and verbal communication skills with high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
8. Proven ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
9. A true team player who is willing to be coached as well as support others
10. Ability to negotiate skillfully, maintain composure in tough situations without damaging relationships
11. Demonstrates positive customer service attitude
12. A valid driver’s license is required
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $65,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
