At Rothewood Academy South Delta, we are looking for a dedicated and nurturing ECE and IT Educator to join our team. The successful candidate will support a warm, safe, and engaging classroom environment where young children feel respected, cared for, and encouraged to grow.
Job Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
- Assess children’s development in order to prepare learning experiences tailored to their individual needs
- Develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children
- Create a warm, caring, and inclusive classroom environment that reflects Rothewood Academy’s Head, Hands, Heart philosophy
- Lead daily activities by telling and reading stories, teaching songs, supporting circle time, and engaging children in meaningful learning experiences
- Encourage children to express creativity through art, dramatic play, music, sensory exploration, and physical activity
- Support storytelling, music, art, dramatic play, movement, and other creative learning opportunities
- Guide and assist children in developing age-appropriate self-help skills, including eating, dressing, toileting, and daily routines
- Observe children’s development, interests, and needs, and document observations as required
- Identify signs of potential learning or behavioural concerns and prepare reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors when needed
- Communicate children’s overall progress and daily experiences with parents in a professional and caring manner
- Discuss children’s progress, needs, and classroom planning during staff meetings
- Attend staff meetings and participate as a positive and collaborative team member
- Establish clear and respectful guidelines for behaviour and support children through positive guidance
- Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, safety, security, and well-being of children
- Maintain knowledge of childcare licensing regulations and follow all health and safety requirements
- Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers, families, and community service providers working with children
- Support classroom organization, materials, and supplies as needed
- Work closely with the school leadership team to maintain Rothewood Academy’s standards of care, professionalism, and early learning
Certificates, Licences, Memberships, and Courses
- Valid BC ECE or Infant/Toddler Educator (IT) Certificate
- First Aid Certificate

Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
