Come join our Hematology/Oncology/Blood and Marrow Transplant/Immunology Clinic (HOT clinic) team at the Alberta Children’s Hospital (ACH), reporting to the Outpatient Unit Manager of the HOT Program. The administrative support III performs a variety of clerical duties to ensure organized clinic operations, communications, patient flow and clerical responsibilities including but not limited to managing appointment scheduling, referral processes and supporting the workflow of clinics. As part of the clerical team, cross coverage will include updating patient flow communication boards, verifying patient demographics, obtaining & documenting height and weights, providing direction and guidance into exam rooms, and. front desk reception as required. The successful candidate will show proficiencies in organization, critical thinking, communication and interpersonal skills. Quality improvement, change management skills and adaptability are required to be a successful team member within the HOT Clinics. Required Qualifications:
Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Recognized unit clerk, medical receptionist/office assistant certificate, and/or substantial clerical experience. Experience with: Microsoft Office 365. 1-2 years’ experience working in a very busy ambulatory clinic and/or inpatient unit within the last 3 years and/or other busy office environment. Ability to move frequently and lift moderately heavy objects (up to 50 pounds). Proficient English language skills in reading, writing and oral communication.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience in pediatrics. Previous referral management experience.
