Position summary
Department / Research Program: Metabolic Disorders and Complications (MeDiC) Program
Under the direct supervision of the principal investigator, Dr. Kaberi Dasgupta, we are currently seeking a highly motivated, organized, enthusiastic individual to join our growing, dynamic team. The incumbent will help recruit, implement, and fulfill the tasks for the “Partner Step T2D” clinical trial and future projects. The “Partner Step T2D project looks at motivating people with Type 2 diabetes and their partners to increase their physical activity. Half of the participants with their partner will receive coaching to improve their inter-partner communication skills.
General Duties
- Work as part of a team focused on diabetes research,
- Assist with organization and implementation of research projects,
- Screens patients for eligibility for inclusion in randomized study and obtain consent for study,
- Perform the in-person evaluations of the participants at the CIM centre – Glen site,
- Maintain accurate data collection of all research participants and organize filing,
- Coordinate and schedule subject study visits with other services and the subject,
- Maintain databases (Excel/RedCap/Other study-clinic related),
- Assist with preparation of ethics submissions, updates, and renewals,
- Attend videos and teleconferences regarding projects,
- Communicate rapidly and effectively with staff through email or other strategies,
- Obtains the required training for Good Clinical Practice and Standard Operating Procedures from the MUHC Research Ethics Board.

Education: Diplome of College Studies (DEC)
Field of Study: Health-related field
Other education considered an asset for this position: Bachelor’s Degree

Required Skills
- This position requires an advanced knowledge of oral and written French.
- An advanced knowledge of oral and written English is required, as the position requires regular and complex contact with patients, researchers or international students who are exclusively proficient in English.
- Experience in a research environment,
- Good communication and organizational skills,
- Ability to multi-task and manage concurrent involvement in multiple projects,
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team,
- Ability to work autonomously,
- Strong computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, RedCap an asset).
Additional information
Status: Temporary, full time (35-hour workweek)
Pay Scale: Commensurate with education and experience
Work Shift: Monday to Friday 8:30am to 4:30pm
Work Site: 5252 de Maisonneuve Blvd.
