Home Support Worker / Personal Support Worker (PSW) – Part-Time

Aviora Healthcare is seeking a compassionate, patient, and dependable Home Support Worker or Personal Support Worker (PSW) to support an adult client in the Innerkip area.
The ideal candidate is comfortable providing community-based support, companionship, routine assistance, and supervision to individuals living with cognitive and behavioural challenges.
Responsibilities
- Provide companionship and emotional support
- Assist with daily routines and community participation
- Support safety awareness and supervision in the home and community
- Encourage independence and engagement in meaningful activities
- Assist with light meal preparation and household tasks as required
- Accompany client on walks, appointments, and community outings
- Observe and report changes in behaviour, mood, or condition
- Maintain accurate documentation and communication with the care team
- Follow established care plans and support strategies
Qualifications
- PSW, DSW, Home Support Worker, Community Support Worker, or related experience preferred
- Experience supporting individuals with Acquired Brain Injury (ABI), developmental disabilities, mental health challenges, or behavioural support needs is considered an asset
- Strong communication, patience, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and professionally
- Valid driver's licence and reliable transportation required
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred
- Vulnerable Sector Check required
Schedule
Part-Time
Current shifts may include:
- Monday evenings
- Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday mornings
- Thursday evenings
- Occasional respite shifts on weekends
