Job Advertisement: Chartered Accountant / Bookkeeper
Location: Camrose County, Alberta (Onsite)
Position: Chartered Accountant / Bookkeeper (Full-Time)
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day bookkeeping, accounts payable/receivable, and bank reconciliations.
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements, reports, and budgets.
- Ensure compliance with Canadian accounting standards, tax regulations (CRA), and cannabis-specific licensing/reporting requirements.
- Support month-end and year-end closings, audits, and tax filings.
- Analyze financial data and provide insights to management on costs, profitability, and cash flow.
- Assist with inventory tracking, cost accounting for cultivation and processing.
- Collaborate with management on financial processes and improvements.
- Handle other financial and administrative tasks as needed.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Chartered Professional Accountant designation or significant progress toward it is preferred. Strong bookkeeping experience with equivalent qualifications may be considered.
- 3+ years of relevant experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or finance (experience in agriculture, manufacturing, production, or regulated industries is considered a strong asset).
- Proficiency with Quickbooks and Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets.
- Knowledge of Canadian tax laws, GST/HST.
- Experience with CRA and Health Canada reporting is considered a strong asset.
- Familiarity with the cannabis industry and AGLC compliance is highly desirable.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be eligible to work in Canada
- Must be willing to provide a satisfactory RCMP Criminal Record Check.
- Must have reliable transportation.
