Reporting to the Senior Accountant the successful candidate will provide efficient clerical support while preparing and processing invoices and statements, reconciling accounts and posting to accounting records based on standard accounting practices. In this role, the successful candidate will provide administrative support to the Finance Department as well as the management team. This is a part-time position, 20-25 hours per week. This position is to cover a maternity leave.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Accounting
- Prepare and issue invoices and documents related to accounts receivable, follow up with customers and collect past-due accounts, and process customer payments.
- Match purchase orders and receiving to vendor invoices, obtain required approvals, and post accounts payable invoices, process, and post vendor payments in a timely manner.
- Various month end duties including bank and account reconciliations.
- Perform related clerical duties, such as word processing, and maintaining filing and record systems
- Working with the production team on order shipping and handling customs reporting
Office Administration
- Coordinate and make travel arrangements and process related expenses for management
- Effectively source and purchase supplies for the office
- Purchase materials and supplies for the Engineering Department and Production as required
- Plan office social events and other company-related functions
- Other administrative duties, including reception duties, as required
- Local driving a few times a week to pick up supplies.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
- Reliable and have a positive attitude and great interpersonal skills
- Strong organization and multi-tasking skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Previous experience in an accounting related field
- Experienced in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word and Teams
Pay: $24.00-$28.00 per hour
