Job Title: Spot Welder
Position Summary
The Spot Welder is responsible for setting up and operating spot welding equipment to fabricate products according to detailed order specifications. This role requires strong attention to detail, quality control, and adherence to health and safety standards within a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Read, interpret, and understand order specifications and production requirements.
- Set up spot welding machines to meet fabrication requirements.
- Operate spot welders to ensure welds and attachments meet order specifications.
- Measure and inspect finished products to ensure conformance to specifications and quality standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues that arise during the spot welding process.
- Report equipment or specification issues to the Shop Foreman or Plant Manager.
- Maintain inventory levels within the spot welding area to ensure required materials and supplies are available.
- Perform routine maintenance on all spot welding machines.
- Accurately complete and manage required production paperwork and documentation.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Comply with all company Health and Safety policies and manufacturing standards.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Shop Foreman or Plant Manager.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience operating spot welding equipment in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong understanding of workplace health and safety standards.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials
- Frequent bending, twisting, reaching, and repetitive hand movements.
- Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination required for operating machinery and handling materials.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, heat, and metal materials.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, gloves, steel-toe boots, and hearing protection.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00-$24.00 per hour
