Receives daily room and equipment set up requests via email / text / in-person from Faculty, responding immediately to confirm arrangements or indicate if not available so Instructor can make other arrangements.
Prepares labs and classrooms in all CoRS locations by setting up and taking down rehabilitation laboratory equipment, moving equipment and furnishings as necessary.
Maintain labs and classrooms in clean and orderly manner daily, and additionally as needed. Ensure adequate supplies and clean laundry and check equipment/furnishings routinely for repair and working condition.
Practical Exam preparation / set up in CoRS classrooms, BMSB, RR3, and CLSF according to details from Faculty and teaching staff.
Performs regular charging of electrical equipment (Power wheelchairs, lifts).
Maintains white board markers/erasers and chalk supplies in CoRS classrooms and seminar rooms.
Maintains and communicates for regular linen supply and discarding dirty linen to HSC Linen services from all CoRS Classrooms and seminar rooms.
Maintains standard PPE supplies in CoRS Classrooms, seminar rooms, RR3, and reception offices. Facilitates ordering and procuring PPE with the help of Office Manager.
Maintains and edits an up-to-date CORS Inventory Control Record for Teaching and Research Equipment and Supplies.
Processes all new equipment, supplies and furnishings in accordance with CORS procedures for new equipment arrivals.
Facilitates student and staff equipment sign-out according to process established for CORS for equipment that may be signed out; follows up on outstanding equipment. Also facilitates equipment sign-out and follows-up for returns with external departments/colleges example HSC, CLSF, etc.
Facilitates equipment requests for special events for College like Open House, Workshops, Luncheon, Ceremonies, etc.
Facilitates equipment and set up requests for UofM student placement arrangements like Neuro-clinic, Cancer Care Clinic, etc.
Organizes annual maintenance and calibration of CoRS Equipment.
Provides minor service by repairing/troubleshooting or performing maintenance to classroom lab equipment and other CORS furnishings as necessary.
Organizes repair of CORS equipment including specialized lab equipment such as electronic physiotherapy equipment, [spirometer, ECG/diascope, oximeter, etc.], sphygmomanometers, wheelchair ergometers, wheelchairs, electric hospital beds, rehabilitation treadmills, etc.
Corresponds in a timely manner in relation to correspondence and email, preparation of weekly/monthly schedule, maintaining CoRS Class Tech Calendar, etc.
Responsible for disassembling, transporting, and reassembling office furniture and equipment during relocations for faculty and staff.
Sources out information regarding equipment repairs, etc. and make arrangements for following through with repairs in consultation with appropriate department head or designate.
Assists in Capital Asset Management in consultation with the Applied Technology Lead.
Communication and coordination with Capital Asset Management Office, Physical Plant, and CoRs Staff and Faculty for disposal of equipment, as assigned by the Applied Technology Lead.
On-site troubleshooting for Equipment functioning/ AV / Printer issues.
Obtains quotes for equipment & related supplies as outlined by academic Dept Heads. Orders equipment & related supplies to support academic program.
Maintains inventory of equipment/consumables and facilitates ordering process in coordination with CoRS admin support or program assistants.
Order consumable supplies using EPIC, as outlined by Department Head or Administrative Services & Operations Manager.
Purchase incidentals needed for repairs, such as bolts, screws, tools as required.
Maintains operation manuals for current equipment.
Create and maintain procedures manual for tasks related to job description.
Creates and maintains MSDS for all the chemical supplies.
Submits and tracks all work orders and maintenance requests for the College (including but not limited to space/caretaking/electrical/furniture moves, etc).
Acts as Fire Warden for the college.
Performs others related duties and projects as requested by the Applied Technology Lead.
Note: Due to the hands-on and operational nature of the responsibilities associated with this position, the role is required to be performed on-site, and regular remote work arrangements are not feasible.
May be required to perform related duties not exceeding skills and capabilities as required.
