Please submit your application only if you are available to work consistently on Tuesdays 10 am to 2 pm, and Thursdays 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM in North Vancouver, and have experience supporting clients’ physical, cognitive, and lifestyle well-being through engaging, goal-based activities. The applicant should have a Valid driver's license, access to a reliable vehicle, and willingness to transport our clients.
About Us: We are a local non-franchise home care company providing medical and non-medical home care to seniors in Alberta and British Columbia. We employ Health Care Aides and Licensed Practical Nurses. We are licensed, bonded and insured, and all staff are covered under WCB.
Duties may include:
- Transport clients safely to and from medical appointments, errands, and family visits.
- Support recreational activities to promote physical, cognitive, emotional and social well-being.
- Support mobility, exercise, and cognitive engagement.
- Provide personal care and DLA as needed.
- Dementia support
- Medication management
- Observe and report client progress
- Completing records accurately and carrying out all assignments as requested
Requirements:
- Have the ability to easily commute to North Vancouver
- Hold a valid permit to work in Canada
- Experience in recreational and well-being activities
- Registered Health Care Aide or have a Nursing Degree in Canada or another country
- Strong interpersonal and motivational skills
- Valid First Aid and CPR Training
- Valid full driver’s license and access to a vehicle
Experience :
- Experience in Recreation or well-being activities (exercises, games, and stimulation activities)
- Minimum one year of experience in this field (CNA Preferred)
- Experience with patients with Dementia and Parkinson's
- Extensive experience in personal care.
- Ability and knowledge to safely transfer patients.
Language:
- Good English communication and comprehension
Skills and Abilities :
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to deal with others compassionately and supportively.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
- Ability to organize work.
- Ability to operate medical equipment
