Cayuga Displays is a leading manufacturer and assembler of commercial display and temperature-controlled food service products, including refrigerated showcases and food bars. As a Purchasing Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the procurement and inventory management operations, ensuring the seamless flow of materials and supplies essential to our manufacturing processes. Reporting directly to the Procurement Specialist, you will be part of a collaborative team dedicated to delivering high-quality products and service.

Key responsibilities include:
- Providing administrative and operational support for purchasing and inventory management activities
- Inputting and managing weekly replenishment stock orders with receivers
- Sourcing products and creating purchase orders for spot-buy and low-value supply items
- Tracking purchase orders and ensuring timely delivery
- Following up with suppliers to confirm, expedite, or modify orders
- Coordinating weekly supplier pickups using a company vehicle
- Assisting with inventory management tasks, including inventory counts
- Supporting supplier non-conformance tracking and corrective action processes
- Resolving supplier invoicing discrepancies and assisting with credit applications
- Assisting with customs broker requests and compliance documentation
- Providing general administrative support and completing additional duties as assigned
Requirements
Required Qualifications:
- Grade 12 education or equivalent
- 5+ years of experience in an office, customer service, or sales support environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access)
- Valid driver’s license
- Professional working proficiency in English
- Legal authorization to work in Canada
Preferred Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Sales, or a related field
- Experience providing purchasing or procurement administrative support, including creating and tracking purchase orders
- Experience supporting inventory management activities such as inventory counts
- Experience preparing or supporting customs broker requests and compliance documentation
- Experience using business or accounting software such as Simply Accounting (Sage 50) or similar
- Experience working cross-functionally with sales and manufacturing/operations teams
- Experience communicating directly with suppliers to follow up on orders
