Job Description
Iron Horse Security & Investigations is currently seeking professional, dependable, and customer-focused Security Guards to join our team.
This position is being hired primarily to support a contract located on Booth Street, Ottawa. While this will be the primary assignment, successful candidates may be scheduled at other client sites based on operational and business requirements.
This position is ideal for individuals looking for casual work or a few fixed shifts each week, with the opportunity to gain valuable experience in a dynamic security environment. Previous security experience is considered an asset but is not required.
Requirements:
IMPORTANT: Applicants must already hold BOTH a valid Ontario Security Guard Licence AND a valid Quebec BSP Security Guard Licence at the time of application. Applications from candidates who do not already hold both licences will not be considered.
- Valid Ontario Security Guard Licence (mandatory)
- Valid Quebec BSP Security Licence (mandatory)
- Valid G or G2 Driver's Licence
- Access to reliable transportation.
- CSA-approved steel-toe safety boots (required for patrols within construction zones).
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Previous security experience is an asset, but not required.
Shift Schedule
Employees are expected to work the shifts assigned to them based on operational requirements and are not scheduled on an on-demand or self-select basis.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular foot and vehicle patrols of the property, including active construction areas.
- Maintain a visible security presence to help protect people, property, and assets.
- Monitor site activities and identify, report, and respond to safety and security concerns.
- Respond promptly and appropriately to incidents, emergencies, and alarms in accordance with site procedures.
- Complete accurate, detailed, and timely incident reports, daily activity logs, and other required documentation.
- Enforce site rules, safety regulations, and company policies in a professional and consistent manner.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with clients, contractors, visitors, members of the public, and emergency responders.
- Demonstrate good communication skills, both verbal and written, including the ability to prepare clear, concise, and accurate reports.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support operational and business requirements.
