Job description
Kitimat 345 Construction Ltd is currently accepting resumes for a local, knowledgeable and hardworking Carpenter and Concrete Installers for our projects in Kitimat, BC. The successful candidates must be able to follow instructions, work independently and be able to safely operate a variety of tools and small equipment. This is not a camp position, no housing or travel supports are being offered
What You Will Do:
- Installing wooden structures such as roofing framers, joists, partitions, rafters, and stud work
- Designing and installation of cabinets, shelves, drywall, and insulation
- Adding fittings and fixtures including door handles, hinges, locks, and closures
- Selecting lumber as per the requirements of the project and sourcing wood that fits within budget and meets style specifications
- Concrete flat work and form work
- Working with suppliers to obtain necessary material while staying within the customer budget
- Reading blueprints and designs prepared by other architects, construction professionals, and ensuring they meet building code recommendations and requirements.
- Load and unload construction materials, and move materials to work areas
- Maintaining cleanliness of the job site
- Prepare work areas and materials
- Ensure tools are cleaned and organized at the end of shift
You Will Bring:
- Preferred: 3+ years of experience as a Journeyman Carpenter
- Preferred: 3+ years of experience with cast-in-place concrete
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to work unsupervised
- Ability to work effectively in various climate conditions, good manual dexterity, physical strength, and stamina
- Understanding and cooperation of safety policies and safe work practices
- Reliable, hardworking, and strong attendance records
- Availability to work overtime with potential for weekends
- Strong work ethic and a positive team player
- Able to effectively communicate verbally and follow instructions
Compensation based on Qualifications and Experience
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $25.00-$45.00 per hour
