Job Title: EH&S Representative
Location: G3 Head Office (On-Site)
The Environment, Health and Safety (EH&S) Representative plays a balanced role in supporting both on-site EH&S activities and core administrative processes. The position maintains EH&S data, reporting, tracking, and communication systems while also working with the EH&S team, site management, safety committees, and operations to support hazard identification, risk mitigation, incident investigations, safety audits, and site assessments.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Drive the streamlining of the EH&S digitization project.
- Provide regular and ad hoc reports, and maintain data and statistics regarding activities, opportunities, and trends.
- Maintain a tracking system for injury incident performance (Safety Index), key performance indicators, Incident Investigations, and other EH&S performances.
- Maintain the EHS Training Tracker, Learning Management System, and other EH&S management systems (fully competent within Excel).
- Maintain the employee portal SharePoint to facilitate and standardize access to EH&S information and enable consistent communication.
- Serves as a contact for inquiries from external organizations such as EH&S service providers.
- Support location management and safety committees with inquiries regarding EH&S processes to ensure consistent understanding and application of EH&S programs, processes, and expectations.
- Deliver timely and clear communications to notify, educate, and engage staff, and reinforce the position of EH&S in the corporate culture.
- Assist as required, EH&S investigations, audits, and site assessments through hazard identification, documentation, corrective action tracking, record maintenance, and communication of risk mitigation measures.
- Aid in incident response activities by attending incident scenes when required, collecting evidence, conducting interviews, and assisting with root cause analysis.
- Travel to operational locations as required to provide hands-on EH&S support, ensure consistency in program application, and strengthen the organization's safety culture through visible field presence.
- Learn and understand grain operations in order to effectively support locations with hazard identification and appropriate controls to mitigate risk.
- Monitor contractor activities on-site to ensure compliance with company EH&S requirements, safe work practices, and applicable regulatory standards.
- Monitor compliance with facility safety requirements and industry best practices through regular site engagement and support.
PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in safety administration, Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety, or equivalent work experience and education
- 3+ years of relevant work experience in EH&S
- Strong skills with MS Office (Word, Excel - pivot tables, PowerPoint)
- Strong interpersonal skills along with effective communication, presentation and facilitation skills
- Ability to develop strong professional relationships and to influence peers, managers and other teams
- Knowledge of SharePoint applications an asset
- Ability to travel as required
