The coordinator & network platform integrator plays an important leadership role by providing direction and technical coordination for the technology platforms assigned to him. The incumbent is responsible for the quality of the solution integration that meets technical and operational guidelines. He works in synergy with operations teams on implementing environments. He also assists the operations teams in diagnosing and returning to normal operations during breakdowns and/or more complex incidents, when required.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with and guide operations analysts and administrators to achieve an adequate technical solution for all parties that balance objectives relating to the architecture, operations, functional needs and project essentials.
Ensure that the integrity of operational solutions and risks of incidents caused by planned changes are managed properly based on user services goals.
Delegate responsibilities to operations team analysts and administrators.
Manage the capacity and performance of assigned operating environments.
Clearly understand the needs of assigned initiatives.
Understand the interaction between the systems under his/her control and other client systems.
Identify the impacts of changes to client’s environments and document solutions.
Moderate debates and facilitate collaboration on the teams.
Work with and advise solution analysts on implementing and configuring environments that comply with project/initiative requirements.
Ensure that technical specifications are duly documented and approved by the parties involved.
Proactively manage technical risks and develop solutions for assigned platforms.
Identify technical problems on these platforms and take charge of resolving them.
Define the knowledge transfer strategy and make sure that the operations teams manage it.
Actively participate in implementation activities and provide post-implementation support.
Be aware of technical trends and best practices in his areas of responsibility.
Professional Requirements
Education
Bachelor’s degree in a technology field or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience
Minimum eight to ten years of relevant technical experience, of which five years were spent:
As an IT infrastructure project delivery specialist
Working in a highly virtualized environment using VMware technologies
Working in a technological environment based on Windows technologies
Experience in operations required
Knowledge & Skills
Good knowledge of high availability environments, virtualized under Microsoft operating systems
Excellent knowledge of the following technologies:
Experience with Cisco switches
Cisco ACI data centre network design
OSPF and BGP routing protocols
Cisco iWAN and WaaS technology
Wide area network (VPN/WAN) design and support
High availability and redundancy mechanismes
Wireless networks (Cisco)
CheckPoint firewall and Cisco
VMWare NSX
Cisco Prime and Cisco ISE including NAC (802.1X) management tools
Knowledge of SDN concepts
Mitel telephony
Knowledge of ITIL methodology
Practical knowledge of implementing service oriented architecture concepts (SOA)
