Overview
Concorde Distribution Systems is a London-based LTL carrier operating a mixed fleet of day-cab tractors and dry-van trailers across Southern Ontario. We're adding a licensed 310J Truck-Trailer Service Technician to our in-house shop team — someone who lives and breathes trailer work and can keep a fleet of 53-footers rolling safely and compliantly.
This is a hands-on journeyman role with consistent hours, a stable team, and equipment you'll actually be proud to put back on the road. Cummins ISB/ISL engine experience on the tractor side is a strong asset — the more you can do, the better.
Responsibilities
- Inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain a fleet of dry-van trailers — brakes, air systems, suspension, flooring, doors, hardware, and lighting
- Conduct and document Ontario Annual Safety Inspections on trailers (MTO/CVSA-compliant)
- Service and repair trailer air brake systems — S-cam, slack adjusters, drums, chambers, and glad hands
- Complete DOT lighting repairs, wiring harness work, and seven-way connector service
- Structural repairs: crossmembers, scuff liners, flooring, rear impact guards, landing gear
- Tire service and wheel-end inspection: bearings, seals, hubs, and mudflaps
- Kingpin inspection and fifth-wheel plate service on day-cab tractors
- Perform Cummins ISB/ISL basic engine and PM service on tractors when required (asset, not primary focus)
- Complete work orders accurately — parts used, labour time, and findings documented
- Communicate repair status and parts needs to the shop lead or fleet manager
- Maintain a clean, organized bay and follow all shop safety protocols
- Proven mechanic experience with heavy-duty trucks or trailers; dealership experience preferred
- Strong mechanical knowledge across automotive repair, electrical systems, HVAC, welding, and industrial equipment
- Experience operating heavy machinery such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, or other industrial equipment is a plus
- Ability to read schematics and technical manuals for troubleshooting complex systems
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
- Capable of performing heavy lifting safely and efficiently
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Strong customer service skills for interacting professionally with clients and team members
