Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Painter & Decorator to join our team. This role involves applying paint, coatings, and finishes to various surfaces in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction painting, restoration, and related skills, with a focus on delivering high-quality results however, students with sports backgrounds are welcome. Candidates should possess a commitment to safety and customer satisfaction. This position offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects that require precision and craftsmanship.
Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, caulking, and priming to ensure optimal paint adhesion
- Apply paints, stains, varnishes, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment
- Read blueprints and schematics to determine project specifications and requirements
- Perform restoration work on damaged or aged surfaces to restore appearance and durability
- Use hand tools, power tools, rigging equipment, and carpentry skills for surface preparation and finishing tasks
- Manage time effectively to meet project deadlines while maintaining quality standards
- Communicate with clients and team members to coordinate work schedules and project details
- Follow safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for all team members
Experience
- Proven experience in construction painting, residential painting, commercial painting, or industrial painting projects
- Knowledge of schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings related to decorating projects
- Familiarity with restoration techniques and the use of various hand tools and power tools
- Ability to read construction plans and schematics accurately
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members
- Experience with caulking, rigging, carpentry, and working with schematics is preferred
- Demonstrated time management skills to handle multiple projects efficiently
