Position Overview
We are seeking a reliable and professional Mower Operator to join our grounds maintenance division. This position is responsible for operating commercial zero-turn mowers and performing all related property maintenance services to maintain commercial and industrial properties to a high standard.
The ideal candidate takes pride in producing clean, professional-looking sites, operates equipment safely and efficiently, and understands the importance of attention to detail on commercial properties.
Primary Responsibilities
- Operate commercial zero-turn mowers safely and efficiently
- Perform grass trimming around buildings, curbs, islands, signs, fences, trees, and other obstacles
- Blow grass clippings and debris from sidewalks, parking lots, curbs, entrances, and hard surfaces
- Drive company trucks and tow trailers between properties
- Load, unload, secure, and transport landscaping equipment safely
- Complete scheduled property maintenance routes on time and to company standards
- Inspect equipment daily before use and report any mechanical or safety issues
- Maintain clean striping patterns and professional property appearance
- Follow all site-specific instructions and service requirements
- Work safely around pedestrians, vehicles, tenants, and active commercial sites
- Assist with additional landscaping and property maintenance tasks when required
- Maintain professionalism when interacting with clients, tenants, and the public
Equipment Operated
- Commercial zero-turn mowers
- String trimmers
- Backpack and handheld blowers
- Push mowers
- Hedge trimmers
- Company pickup trucks
- Utility, dump, and enclosed trailers
Requirements
- Valid G Class Driver’s License with clean driving record
- Experience operating commercial zero-turn mowers preferred
- Ability to safely tow and maneuver trailers
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs repeatedly throughout the day
- Reliable transportation to and from reporting location
- Strong work ethic, punctuality, and positive attitude
- Ability to follow company safety procedures and operational standards
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous commercial landscaping experience
- Experience operating multiple types of lawn and landscape equipment
- Knowledge of commercial property maintenance standards
- Experience working efficiently on route-based service schedules
Work Environment
This position involves physically demanding outdoor work in various weather conditions, including heat, rain, and long operating hours during peak season. Employees are expected to maintain a professional appearance and represent the company positively at all times.
