Job Summary
Join a newly opened, fast-growing butcher shop in High River AB as we expand into Business-to-Business (B2B) sales, serving restaurants, grocery stores, hospitality businesses, and other local partners.
This is a high-impact sales role where you will play a key part in building our commercial client base from the ground up. You will have the opportunity to develop your own portfolio of customers and directly contribute to the growth and success of the business.
We are looking for a motivated, relationship-driven sales professional who enjoys prospecting, building long-term partnerships, and driving new business in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
This role offers strong earning potential through base pay plus commission, as well as the opportunity to help shape early-stage sales processes and contribute to the long-term expansion of the company.
Beyond sales growth, this position plays an important role in strengthening brand presence, improving customer retention, and supporting the development of scalable operations as the business grows, with future expansion opportunities in the local market.
The ideal candidate is outgoing, proactive, and customer-focused, with the ability to work independently while helping establish a strong foundation for future growth and potential expansion.
Responsibilities
- Identify and approach new potential customers, including:
- Restaurants
- Food trucks
- Catering companies
- Hotels
- Cafés
- Local families and repeat customers
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships.
- Promote premium products, specialty cuts, and family meat packages.
- Increase daily sales and average transaction value.
- Follow up with leads and maintain recurring business accounts.
- Deliver excellent customer service and product recommendations.
- Educate customers on meat cuts, preparation methods, and product quality.
- Handle customer inquiries professionally and efficiently.
- Support customer retention and loyalty initiatives.
- Assist with local promotions and community events.
- Help organize tastings and product demonstrations.
- Support social media content and weekly promotions.
- Represent the business professionally within the local community.
- Track customer accounts and sales opportunities.
- Coordinate special orders and commercial requests.
- Work closely with the Butcher Manager to identify high-demand products and sales opportunities.
- Contribute ideas for business growth and market expansion
Requirements
- Previous experience in sales, customer service, or business development.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated and results-driven attitude.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience in food service, retail, hospitality, or meat industry.
- Existing local business connections are an asset.
- Driver’s license and reliable transportation are an asset.

Compensation: Base pay of $23/hour plus commission. Total earnings may vary depending on sales results.
