We are currently looking for a Yard Supervisor to lead our yard team and ensure the efficient and safe operation of our lumber yard and building materials area.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise the daily activities of yard staff, including scheduling, training, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
- Conduct daily staff meetings to set priorities and communicate operational updates.
- Coordinate the loading and unloading of materials and ensure products are properly stored and organized.
- Maintain accurate inventory control and perform regular stock checks.
- Work closely with the sales and customer service teams to ensure timely and accurate fulfillment of customer orders.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organization throughout the yard.
- Address and resolve issues related to yard operations.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and implement corrective actions when required.
- Lead and support process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve customer service.
- Promote a positive team environment and strong work ethic.
- Support customers and staff with service when needed including preparing products.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in building materials, lumber yard operations, or a related field.
- 3 years in leadership or supervisory experience is considered an asset.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to workplace safety and excellent customer service.
- Forklift experience or certification is an asset.
- Bilingual (French and English) is an asset. English is mandatory.
