Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and motivated Sales Clerk to join our retail team. The ideal candidate will possess excellent customer service skills, strong communication abilities, and a passion for sales. This role involves assisting customers, managing transactions, and promoting products to enhance the shopping experience. Bilingual skills and experience in technology sales or product demos are a plus. The Sales Clerk will play a vital role in creating a welcoming environment and driving sales growth through effective merchandising and upselling techniques.
Monday- Friday 8am-5pm
Occasional Saturdays- 8am-2pm
Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and provide exceptional customer service throughout their shopping experience
- Assist customers in locating products and answer questions about merchandise, features, and benefits
- Operate the POS system accurately for sales transactions, returns, and exchanges
- Handle cash, process payments, and manage cash handling procedures with integrity
- Conduct product demonstrations and provide detailed information on technology or other featured items
- Upsell complementary products and promote ongoing promotions to increase sales
- Maintain organized merchandising displays to attract customer attention and optimize product placement
- Ensure the sales area is clean, organized, and well-stocked at all times
- Use effective phone etiquette when communicating with customers over the phone or via digital channels
- Manage time efficiently to serve multiple customers during busy periods while maintaining quality service
Requirements
- Previous retail sales experience preferred; experience in technology sales or product demos is a plus
- Bilingual abilities (English and additional languages) highly desirable to serve diverse customer needs
- Strong communication skills with an emphasis on clear, friendly interaction
- Basic math skills for handling transactions accurately and managing cash registers (POS)
- Excellent organizational skills to manage merchandising displays and stock levels
- Proven ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Good time management skills to prioritize tasks during busy hours
- Knowledge of cashiering procedures, cash handling, and POS systems
- Professional phone etiquette for customer inquiries and follow-up communication
- Ability to upsell products tactfully to maximize sales opportunities
