Sureway Metal Systems Ltd. is seeking a reliable, motivated, and self-directed General Labourer to join our Processing Shop. As a key member of our team, you will support daily shop operations and contribute to the safety, efficiency, and quality of our production processes.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with the handling, preparation, and movement of materials.
- Operate machinery, tools, and equipment as required, with a strong focus on safety and precision.
- Follow instructions and work collaboratively with team members to complete tasks efficiently.
- Perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, moving, and assembling materials.
- Complete general cleanup, housekeeping, and organization throughout the shop.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area.
- Take initiative and assist with additional shop duties as required.
Qualifications:
- Experience in a steel-processing, fabrication, or similar industrial environment is preferred but not required.
- Must be able to accurately read a tape measure.
- Must be physically capable of lifting materials and standing for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and be a self-starter.
- Willingness to follow all safety procedures and company standards.
- Positive attitude and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Reliable transportation to and from work.
- Forklift certification is considered an asset.
- Overhead crane certification is considered an asset.
- A clear driver’s abstract is preferred.
