A unique hybrid role combining Veterinary Assistant and Client Care responsibilities
Prince Edward Animal Clinic is an independently owned and operated, boutique-style small animal practice located in Toronto's west end, nestled between The Kingsway and Chestnut Hills.
Our brand-new, state-of-the-art clinic is Fear Free practice, paperless, and designed to provide exceptional care for our patients while creating a warm, supportive environment for our team and clients alike.
We are looking for an experienced veterinary professional who is equally comfortable caring for patients, speaking with clients, answering phones, and helping create an exceptional experience for every family who visits our clinic.
This is a hands-on role that combines Veterinary Assistant duties with Client Care and Reception responsibilities. The ideal candidate enjoys variety, thrives on building relationships, and takes pride in providing compassionate care to both pets and the people who love them.

Your Future Role
As a Veterinary Assistant & Client Care Representative, you will play an essential role in both patient care and client experience. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys variety in their day and takes pride in building relationships with both people and pets.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting veterinarians and RVTs with examinations and medical procedures.
- Collecting and preparing laboratory samples and performing in-house testing.
- Caring for hospitalized patients by maintaining clean kennels and providing food, water, medications, and walks.
- Greeting clients warmly and helping them feel comfortable from the moment they arrive.
- Answering phones, scheduling appointments, and assisting clients with questions and concerns.
- Providing clear, compassionate communication throughout a patient's care.
- Providing clear, compassionate communication and helping clients navigate their pet's visit with confidence and ease.
- Participating in client communication by phone, email, and in person.
- Working closely with the veterinary team to communicate recommendations, treatment plans, and follow-up instructions clearly, confidently, and compassionately.
- Maintaining cleanliness and organization throughout the clinic.
- Managing inventory and unpacking orders.
- Providing compassionate, gentle care to every patient who walks through our doors.
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Veterinary Assistant in a small animal general practice.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
- A genuine enjoyment of working with both people and animals.
- Confidence speaking with clients in person, over the phone, and by email.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- The ability to remain calm, positive, and compassionate in a busy environment.
- Experience with EzyVet and Mac computers is considered an asset.
- A positive attitude and a willingness to jump in wherever help is needed.
- A desire to become a long-term member of our team and grow with the clinic.
